Opendesign
Web 2.0, the do-it-yourself Web, has created a new design public sphere, forums and blogs enable people to swap ideas, present their own work and also to forge novel ways of creative collaboration.
Design 2.0 is interactive, collaborative and consequently open.
In Open Design, the design is fully represented as digital information, compatible with a chosen CNC production method (from your printer to laser cutting, up to rapid prototyping).
And once a design is digital information It could be link with a truly admirable Open Source phenomenon.
This new method raises, of course, a lot of questions about copyrights, new business logic and product range possibilities,.
It’s only the beginning, but Open Design is in tune with the forward looking and positive aspects of culture.
My opendesign educational project.
